On 03-02-10 officers took 7 individuals from Marion County into Federal Custody as part of year long drug and firearms investigation. The case was investigated by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Task Force. Those arrested include:
Perry Davis 49 years old of Guild, TN
Greg Rutherford 58 years old of Jasper, TN
Freddie McCulley 46 years old of Guild, TN
Jack Carson 51 years old of Jasper, TN
Theodore Henry 27 years old of Whiteside, TN
Jamie Harris 38 years old of Whiteside, TN
Miguel Lopez Bracamontes 32 years old of South Pittsburg, TN
Charges on the individuals range from Conspiracy to Distribute more than 50 grams of Methamphetamine, Possession of a firearm in the furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and multiple single counts of distributing methamphetamine. The indictment alleges that that Davis, Rutherford, McCulley, Carson, Henry, and others known and unknown to the Grand Jury conspired to distribute methamphetamine. If convicted of these offenses the individuals face a rang of incarceration from 5 years to Life, depending on their previous criminal convictions.
Haris was charged with a single count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Bracamontes was charged with a single count of being an illegal immigrant in possession of a firearm.
During the investigation officers seized 60 illegally possessed firearms from the group, officers also seized several vehicles, motorcycles, and a camper trailer. The vehicles had either been used to transport or store methamphetamine.
Most of the seized items will be auction by the Sheriff’s Department. Money made from that auction will be place back into the county’s drug fund and will be used to pay for future drug related investigations.
